About the Institution

SSN College of Engineering (SSNCE), founded by Padma Bhushan Dr. Shiv Nadar, Chairman, HCL Technologies, stands out as a premier center of higher learning with a mission of pursuing excellence in education and research. The institution, with its diverse and dynamic community of students offers a distinctive combination of some of the finest graduate, undergraduate and research programs, accomplished faculty, world class facilities and a residential campus set on a sprawling 250 acres of sylvan surroundings. SSNCE is a home to aesthetically designed buildings with state of the art computer and internet facilities, modern workshops, seminar halls, auditoriums and well stocked libraries, sports and games fields in addition to an indoor stadium with gym. SSN College of Engineering has faculty strength of 251 with a faculty student ratio of one faculty for every 15 students. Out of the total, 208 faculties are PhDs and 43 are pursuing their Ph.D. SSNCE has been ranked 8th among all the private engineering colleges in the country and ranked 37th among all engineering colleges and 78th among all the educational institutions in the Atal Ranking of Institutions on Innovation Achievements (ARIIA 2019), instituted by the MHRD, Government of India.

About the Department

The department of Mechanical Engineering was established in the year of 2007-08 with a mission to educate and train students to become globally competent. The department has 34 faculty members, 31 of them having Ph.D. 121 research scholars are pursuing their Ph.D. in the department of which 28 are full-time scholars. The Department is accredited by NBA and strengthened by its motivated faculty members working on various research projects funded by Naval Research Board (NRB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) and the SSN Trust to the tune of more than 3 Crores. The major research areas are: Friction Stir Welding, Metal Cutting, Composites, Finite Element Analysis, Computational Fluid Dynamics. Vibration Analysis, Nano Technology, Robotics, Heat Transfer, Alternate fuels, Thermal energy storage and Vapour absorption refrigeration systems.

About the Conference

The scope of the conference is to provide a platform for students, academicians and scientific researchers to present and deliberate their research work in the area of materials, metallurgy and manufacturing. The advent of the digital age is seeing the robust growth of research in smart materials and technologies while the manufacturing processes ensures in making these new age products and prototypes. It is the endeavour of this conference to bring to the forefront the research works in Engineering materials, metallurgy and manufacturing by eminent scholars worldwide and share their success stories to an earnest International audience.
